The challenge

The next generation of nuclear energy depends on more than advanced reactor designs. It also depends on the ability of suppliers, engineering organizations, utilities, and regulators to manage complex documentation, qualification requirements, and review processes with greater speed and confidence.

Project Prometheus brings together 32 consortium partners across national laboratories, academia, and industry to explore how AI can streamline engineering, qualification, licensing, operations, and knowledge management.

Much of this work still depends on fragmented documents, institutional knowledge, and labor-intensive review. In safety-critical environments, the challenge is not simply finding information. It is organizing, verifying, and applying technical knowledge in ways that remain traceable, transparent, and reviewable.

As one of the consortium partners, AlphaPX is focused on turning complex engineering knowledge into AI-assisted qualification workflows that support readiness, expert review, and human-centered decision making.
